Through speaking at schools, organizations, media outlets, and more, he is passionate about his role of sharing a fresh perspective on hope, life, and faith.

Sami was born in 1939 in Bukovina, part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire belonging to Romania. From 1941 through 1944, he was with his parents in Ukraine at a labor camp in an area called Transnistria. The family was deported by the Romanians. After the medical experiments, life was very difficult in the camp. The starvation and the bitterly cold Russian winter created survival problems. His life was saved by a German woman who had access to the camp. The camp was liberated by the Red Army and he grew up in Transylvania. In 1961, the whole family emigrated to Israel and Sami served in the Israeli Air Force.
